Studio Withanage has always been at the cutting edge of technology. To say the least it was my late grandfather and the founder of the Studio, Mr H.M. Withanage, who wrote the first ever book in Sinhalese on photography in 1958. This book titled 'PHOTOGRAPHY IN SINHALESE' is a landmark in the evolution and development of photography in Sri Lanka (then Ceylon). This achievement alone stands as a testimonial to the  primary objective of Studio Withanage, which is to bring quality and affordable photography to the broad-based community at large.
